NCKCN no longer provides support as of August 1st, 2017 for those who use Microsoft FrontPage to publish or upload content to their website.  Microsoft discontinued support for FrontPage back in 2008 and it’s time for NCKCN to do the same.  NCKCN does support alternative publishing methods such as: FTP and WordPress.

Service Description:

NCKCN has one of the lowest prices for hosting Virtual Domains.  We want to be able to allow all our members to have access to this technology and capability.  All you need to do is simply fill out our Web Hosting Pack of your choosing form, and we will register your domain for you if you do not have one.  NCKCN does not charge any extra for registering domains for NCKCN Members.  The only cost to you is the Domain registration cost (which is simply forwarded to you with no additional NCKCN charge added to it), Domain housing cost and of course, the yearly/Renewal Domain Registration fee (which the yearly/renewal Domain Registration fee is not an NCKCN charge, again, we simply forward the bill to you with no additional NCKCN charges added to it).

NCKCN Web Hosting Packages include:

  • Complimentary Pack – 500MB web space (NCKCN & CTC Members Only)
  • VD Member Pack – 10GB web space (Virtual Domain NCKCN & CTC Members Only)
  • VD Non-Member Pack – 10GB web space (Virtual Domain Non-Members Only)
  • VD Member Commercial Pack – 100GB web space (Virtual Domain NCKCN & CTC Members Only)
  • VD Non-Member Commercial Pack – 100GB web space (Virtual Domain Non-Members Only)
  • VD Member Enterprise Pack – 200GB web space (Virtual Domain NCKCN & CTC Members Only)
  • VD Non-Member Enterprise Pack – 200GB web space (Virtual Domain Non-Members Only)

Service Capabilities/Features:

  • Database Backup/Restore – (This does not include the Complimentary Pack as MySQL databases are not available for this pack)
  • Website Backup/Restore
  • Unmetered Bandwidth
  • You will have your own registered domain name and IP address
  • You have complete control over your website and how you want to publish it
  • You can receive unlimited hits to your website per month without extra billing charges

Complimentary Pack (NCKCN & CTC Members):

North Central Kansas Community Network & Cunningham Telephone & Cable free member websites are all under the NCKCN sub-domain (example: https://my-space.nckcn.com/username/).  Members of either organization receive 1 free website.  To become a member of either organization, one needs to have services installed and active either at their household or at their place of business.  If you are not the primary account holder, you will need to get in touch with the individual who is, either for your home or business to see if you may receive this free website before activation.  If you are not the primary account holder and you send us a request to create/activate this free website, NCKCN will contact the primary account holder for verification purposes.  Services to receive this free website include:

  • Any pack listed for NCKCN’s High-Speed Fixed Wireless Internet service
  • Any package listed for CTC’s Cable service
  • Any package listed for CTC’s Internet service
  • Any package listed for CTC’s Telephone service

Please note that NCKCN does not activate your free website until you request it.  To activate your free website, simply click/tap the Activate website button on the Web Hosting services page within the Complimentary Pack box and then fill out the form as instructed.  A NCKCN staff member will create and activate your website upon receiving the request within 2 hours during normal business hours.  If requested after hours, over the weekend, or over the holiday break(s), your website will be created and activated on the next normal business day.  Once your website has been activated, you will receive either an email to your primary email account, or you may receive a phone call informing you that the website has been activated.  Upon receiving this confirmation email and/or phone call, you may begin using your new website immediately and NCKCN, along with their partner CTC, hope you enjoy this free service.

Virtual Domain Packs (Members):

Virtual Domain member accounts (commercial & enterprise included) are under unique domain names (example: http://www.domain-name.tld – where tld stands for Top Level Domain such as: .com, .net, .org, etc…) rather than using NCKCN’s sub-domain (https://my-space.nckcn.com/username/).  To become a NCKCN or CTC member, one needs to have services installed and active either at their household or at their place of business which contain any of the following service(s):

  • Any pack listed for NCKCN’s High-Speed Fixed Wireless Internet service
  • Any package listed for CTC’ Cable service
  • Any package listed for CTC’s Internet service
  • Any package listed for CTC’s Telephone service

Virtual Domain member accounts are typically reserved for those who would like to either upgrade their existing free members website to their own unique domain name rather than having their website on the NCKCN sub-domain or for members who would like to obtain their own unique domain name but still want and/or have their free member website active.

Virtual Domain Packs (Non-Members):

Virtual Domain non-member accounts (commercial & enterprise included) are under unique domain names (example: http://www.domain-name.tld – where tld stands for Top Level Domain such as: .com, .net, .org, etc…).  These accounts are typically reserved for those who do not wish to obtain an other NCKCN or CTC service.

Non-Profit Organizations:

NCKCN offers free web hosting services to non-profit organizations.  To receive NCKCN’s free web hosting services, non-profit organizations must provide a copy of their 501(c)(3) form either as a paper copy or a digital copy and will need to send it either to NCKCN’s main office:

Also note, if your non-profit organization does not have a domain name and it would like NCKCN to register and manage one for it, NCKCN will forward the bill to your organization at no additional cost.  Domain registration and renewal services does not fall under NCKCN’s web hosting services and will be an expense on behalf of your non-profit organization.

Additional Services for Virtual Domain Account Holders:

  • Domain Name Transfer = $20 per domain name
  • 100 Additional Authenticated Users = $10 per month
  • 10GB of Additional Web Space = $10 per domain name for each additional 10GB needed
  • Off-Site DNS Hosting/Resolution = $5 per month
  • SSL Certificates(s), or Secure Socket Layer Certificate(s) – (from http to https) = As low as $75/yr – However, price may vary depending on your SSL needs. Please call our main office for SSL prices.
  • Unique Domain Name Email Account(s) Services – See NCKCN’s Email Services page for more information

Please note: A $25 fee is assigned each publishing method change.  For example, if you request a FTP site when your site was first initially setup and then want to switch to a WordPress site, your account will be charged $25 for administrative overhead for us to move your domain to the other publishing method servers.  This fee is for each change only.  If you never change the publishing method you use, you will never be charged this administrative fee.

FTP Publishing Method Websites — Servers Specifications include:

  • Servers Operating System: Ubuntu Linux
  • SSD Drives included
  • Bandwidth: 1GB
  • Apache Version: 2.4.7
  • PHP Version: 5.5.9
  • MySQL Version: 5.5.59
  • FTP Compliant
  • Domain name or Host name: Dependent on what your Virtual Domain name is (Example: nckcn.com)
  • WordPress Version: 4.6 or lower – Please note: Any and all new Virtual Domains that request to have WordPress as their publishing method will be placed on the WordPress Publishing Method Website Servers from here on out, specifications are listed below.  Those who are current Virtual Domain account holder(s) who have WordPress installed but are running either versions 4.6 or lower and are looking to upgrade their WordPress platform will need to inform us prior to updating.  A major change occurred with WordPress versions 4.7 and higher.  Versions 4.7 and higher of WordPress require PHP 7.0 and these servers do not have that version of PHP installed.  Again, current Virtual Domain Account Holder(s) will need to inform us if they plan on updating their WordPress platform prior to doing so if their current version of WordPress is 4.6 or lower – that way we can migrate your website over to our newer servers that have PHP 7.0 installed on them.  Thank you for your cooperation.
